In the sun, asleep and warm.
His tail is limp his
Whiskers drooped.

This cat so pooped?

Today is Zahra Sayyid's Birthday.

Today is Francis' Birthday.

Monday, August 08, 2005

A few things:

Statistics:
I am going to be in China in about one day and 3.5 hours.
I will have to wake up in 2.5 hours.
I plan to sleep at least 10.5 hours on the plane.

Wishful Thinking:
I was toying with the idea of leaving Bessie on for the 3 or so weeks I won't be home, but my parents flatly said no at idea of the waste of electricity. What if I told her to render a huge 10240x7680 image? o_o.

Music and Varying Ways to Cope with Boredom:
Because Bessie will be off, I realized I could not FTP and steal songs remotely in China (bringing the laptop), which meant I had to burn songs onto CDs. So I tried to minimize burning and maximize awesome, resulting in two CDs, about 300 songs, and a vows from several people to send me music when I am in China. I also have apophysis and various other forms of entertainment on a third cd. Fractals on the airplane. Mmmmm

Inproductivity and Lack of Motivation to Check if Inproductivity is a Valid Word:
The last couple of days have found themselves to be alarmingly unproductive. I feel rather dissappointed missing a good opportunity with friends on Friday. With the departure of Summer Chemistry comes the arrival of several hours of freetime (but not before a nice weekend is placed before it), all of which I feel I have wasted. The few productive things I recall doing are running around 4 miles but getting schooled by Nona, drawing a picture for someone, and staying ontop of Chinese homework and practicing piano.

Frustrations:
On Sunday, I tried to bind a <strike> highlight command in AIM to a strokeit gesture. Francis knows how that turned out.         [CTRL_DOWN]c[CTRL_UP][WIN][UP][UP][UP][UP][UP][LEFT]
    [ENTER][CTRL_DOWN]v[CTRL_UP]
    [HOME]<strike>[END]</strike>
    [CTRL_DOWN]a[CTRL_UP][CTRL_DOWN]x[CTRL_UP]
    [ALT][F4][LEFT][ENTER]
    [ALT_DOWN][TAB][ALT_UP][CTRL_DOWN]v[CTRL_UP]
It didn't work out too well.

Three is Company:
On Friday, Jeff came over. For some unplaceable reason, whether it be prior dissappointments or almost alarming boredom, everything seemed out of place. Normally, another friend would have joined us, but he was off with his family playing cards, so instead it was just me and Jeff. Perhaps it was as Jenny said, it was simply awkward when there's only two of us. That, or I was too awesome for just one idiot to handle. I think we watched Iron Chef though, so that makes up for it.

Summer Opportunities:
I haven't made a single dollar this summer. Freelance webdesign pays well. IF YOU FIND SOMEONE TO PAY YOU. Hopefully I will have something in the last couple of week when I get back. Maybe that Eric kid I met last month will earn some money.

A thought:
People think they are all that. I'm a person. Damn.

Todo:
    Thinkquest
    Reflect
    Run
    School Responsibilities
-----
Ah. Perhaps I'll write something on the plane and post it when I arrive in Beijing. Lack of material and lack of time both lend themselves to this hastily bland entry.
*Yawn*
-----
Question: What do you want me to bring back from China?
